I must admit that I do like having the SD slot on my M9. But on the other hand, I think 64gb is plenty for me. I couldn't do 32, but I wouldn't worry too much about 64. I've got a 64gb card in my phone now and I'm only using 20gb or so and I don't foresee my needs changing.
