No insight from anyone? Desperate here. Phone is still in rice. Screen is black and flashes when I press the wake button, but stays black

Ok home button now works, but every now and then while the screen is on it flashes brightly. Oh no what's going on!? Did I break my phone by putting on a screen protector?! If anyone has insight I would really appreciate some help...

Just applied a wet apply screen protector to my new S6 Edge. After I turned the phone back on I noticed the screen would turn on without a reason. And home button is unresponsive. When I press the home button I notice excess moisture appears. Will this problem clear up after its dry? Very upset...
