I bought my Note 8, unlocked, directly from Samsung. I wanted want that didn't have all the Verizon bloat ware, and which would give me the most flexibility with carriers when I travel. Before buying, I asked on several location if the unlocked one would lack any features when used on Verizon...

I used WiFi calling on my Note 5 because we have poor phone signal at home. It works very well. It works so well that I was on a plane with my phone in Airplane Mode, logged in to WiFi, and suddenly received a phone call over the Verizon network!
