can't change bottom row of home screen apps galaxy s3

Hi there, thanks for your post, but as I tried to explain in my earlier posts, this is exactly what I used to be able to do. No longer possible. I ended up speaking with a tech support person at Telstra last week who confirmed what a couple of people have said in this thread. That is, Samsung...

Meyerweb could you explain what a launcher is, and what the benefits are? I've never heard about these before. Sent from my GT-I9300T using Android Central Forums

Thank goodness, it's not just me, I'm not going crazy! Good luck Kate, let me know how you go. I've tried talking to a person at the tech bar in a Telstra store but it didn't help. I might have to try a Samsung store next! Sent from my GT-I9300T using Android Central Forums

can't change bottom row of home screen apps galaxy s3

Hi, I'm located in Melbourne Australia. Ok, yes I add apps and widgets from that screen same as you. I have no problem adding or removing apps and widgets on the main section of the home screens. It's just that bottom row I can't seem to edit. When I simply hold down my finger on an icon and...

can't change bottom row of home screen apps galaxy s3

Here's a screen shot of what happens when I just hold down my finger and try to drag an icon. It contradicts itself by bringing up the bin in the top corner and appearing to let me move an icon, but nothing sticks. It brings up the message you see on screen, and reverts back to how it was as...

can't change bottom row of home screen apps galaxy s3

You mean delete an icon from the bottom row? No I can't. I can't do anything at all to the bottom row, as it is blanked out in edit mode. The GoSMS icon was in the bottom row, and disappeared when I uninstalled the app. Now that I've reinstalled it I can't put it back where it was. I can't put...

can't change bottom row of home screen apps galaxy s3

I'd rather not do a factory reset if at all avoidable... A friend of mine got a brand new Galaxy S3 last week, and he's having exactly the same issue on his phone. So I don't think it's just my phone, so it surprises me that nobody else seems to be having the same issue. The fact that my friend...

can't change bottom row of home screen apps galaxy s3

Hi, thanks for the link. That link explains how things used to work on my S3, but it no longer works that way for some reason. Now, from my home screen that looks like the first screenshot attached, when I go to edit the home screen, you can see in the second screen shot that it blanks out that...

can't change bottom row of home screen apps galaxy s3

Hi, I realise this is an old-ish thread, but I have recently started having a similar problem (perhaps since the last system upgrade...?). I used to be able to change which apps I had in that bottom row of shortcuts, but now I can't. And the Settings path you describe above doesn't exist (and I...

SMS contacts mixed up - due to similar phone numbers?

Ok, I re-installed goSMS, and now it's correctly identifying Person A incoming sms, only problem is that it starts a new sms thread every time he message me. LOL. I guess that will do for now... Sent from my GT-I9300T using Android Central Forums

SMS contacts mixed up - due to similar phone numbers?

I uninstalled GoSMS, the default app continued with the same problem. Not sure what else I can try?

SMS contacts mixed up - due to similar phone numbers?

OK, I tried deleting data and cache from both GoSMS and the default app. It didn't fix the problem :( Interestingly, it actually didn't delete the message history.

SMS contacts mixed up - due to similar phone numbers?

Hi, thanks for your reply. Given that the problem is happening in the default SMS app as well, should I do the same thing for the default app?

SMS contacts mixed up - due to similar phone numbers?

Hi there, I've had my Galaxy S3 for about 9 months, and 2 weeks ago started having this problem (I don't recall changing any settings etc that coincide with this timing). Two contacts have numbers which are only one digit different (ie, 04AXXXXXXX and 04BXXXXXXX). I've had these numbers stored...
