No, but I figured out the issue. Why the screen wasn't lighting up when I would get a msg. I was not using the default msg app, but another messages app. Went to the default one and it works. So I guess that was the issue. Wow. All this time I was using the wrong Messages app. Thank you!

Yes, I want the screen to light up and show I have a msg when I get one, instead of just staying dark. I have enabled the notifications and edge lighting. The little, tiny red light will light up, but its easily missed, I'm talking about the screen itself lighting up, something noticeable.

If you use the sd card to hold all your other files and music, books and so forth, there should be plenty of room for apps. It will hold a lot of them. Chances are if you used up all that for apps you would have apps on there you are not even using. LoL! Sent from my UNrooted Galaxy Tab 2 7.0

I absolutely love my 7 inch. I use it for reading and have no issues because I just adjust the books font to a larger size if needed. I used to use a 10 inch for reading too but I definitely prefer the 7 inch for that. If you get a nice lightweight 10 inch then you may prefer that. It's just...
