Activated automatically with Nougat. Dial *#0011# to get to service menu, if you are on a 3CA tower, and your phone is using constant data, you will see 3 sections of CA and it will tell the 3 bands being used and their bandwidths

It really doesn't seem like you have a note 5, can you check to make sure you actually have a Note 5? If you do and it's not a knock off one, maybe someone has rooted it and stored a lot backups or other data in the system

It's the Gmail app itself, have the same problem with it on my note 5... Doesn't give me notifications when a new emails come in. Something broken in the app. I use Nova unread count notifications, so at least when I look at the app icon it shows if I have a new email. Which is a complete joke...

You may find something, but factory reset is what I'm thinking. Which really stinks
