I would like to be able to disable the Gmail app such that messages to my gmail address do NOT go into the Gmail app but only the Email android app. Is there a way to do that? direct or indirect? Thanks. Jack

I have the same problem. Adding a contact to my phone does not "connect" it to gmail....AND it does not ask me what account I want to create it in....it goes straight to the phone account and no little blue G. I have a Samsung Galaxy S4. thanks for any help - a bit frustrating. Jack
