    Well this has turned to garbage. Samsung processed one of the returns, and someone at FedEx stole the phone out of the box. Thankfully Samsung sends videos, but this is a ridiculous hassle now.

    I ended up returning both of the 512GB graphite ultra's I got, and ordered a regular black 256. The new one still has a very slight ripple, but nothing near what the others were, and is acceptable.

    You can see these easily with the naked eye, no bright light needed.

    This is not a tolerance issue. This is a manufacturing defect.

    Screen. It just looks like a shadow like the curved parts of the screen. Just a shade darker. I'm actually really disappointed, because I wasn't a big fan of the S22 ultra, but so far really, really liked the S23U.

    One small update. I got around to setting up the replacement I received on Monday, and the defect is visible with the screen on. It appears as a shadow, just like the curved edges of the screen. Some may be willing to tolerate it (more power to you), but its going to bother me so the new one is...

    I wish the regular colors came with the matte aluminum frame. It looks really nice on this design.

    These are mass-produced. The fact that some have it and some don't mean that, by definition, this is a flaw. If it was not a flaw, either all would have it, and it was intended to be so, or none would. Whether it affects the long-term reliability of the screen is unknown, since these devices...

    But their response then begs the question: Are the phones that don't have it defective since they claim that its supposed to be that way? Samsung is terrible at handling these things
