Okay, so I did the reset and Ok Google seems to be working. It's still downloading my apps and updating them. Let's see what happens when everything is updated.

Tried everything you suggested and still no good. I guess I might as well try a factory reset. Thanks for your efforts I really appreciate it. I'll report back after the reset.

Both are set to English. Also, as I mentioned Assistant can hear me and respond if I stay in the Assistant application. If it was the language setting I don't think it would do that. Deleting old devices doesn't help.

That is #4 on my list of things I tried above.
