I have a Huawei Watch connected and experienced the same behavior. Someone suggested deleting the three default DND profiles and I haven't had the problem since.

Depending on the phone, there are kernels that block reporting of the unlocked bootloader so Android Pay will work. There are a few for my Pixel XL. Then there is Chainfire's suhide or RootSwitch also for the Pixel XL that can help block root.

PushBullet with Textra doesn't clear notifications for me. Was there something you had to set up to do that?

Try turning off Tilt to Wake in Settings, Gestures.

In case it's putting it in DND mode, try this. Mine was putting my 6P and then my Pixel XL into do not disturb mode after almost every call. Even though none were active, deleting the default DND schedules in settings fixed that for me.
