There is no "car mode" or "hands free" mode under the settings > advanced features icon on my Verizon Galaxy S7. Is it possible that Samsung would have made this feature carrier-specific? JJ

Other threads have mentioned that turning off video stabilization helps, because the camera has built-in hardware-based stabilization, that sometimes doesn't play nice with the software stabilization algorithm. Might be worth a try. JJ

I would make sure "Advanced Calling" is disabled. (You can disable it on an account level from the Verizon wireless website, or at the phone-level using the "Advanced Calling" selection under the Settings app.) Advanced Calling is an interesting concept, but it's not ready for prime time...

The only time I've seen the screen activate spontaneously is when the phone has reached 100% capacity while charging.
