If your taking about the small weather icon in the top right it is buried in the Google now settinngs. You have to hit the menus in the top right and click on customize select weather and notification updates. If that doesn't do it then it might be further in the settings then I can remember...

Usually when I wipe and reinstall I do not restore anything. I set it up as a new device. My contacts will automatically appear when signing into my Gmail account. As for applications I just download the applications manually.

I haven't experienced any issues. Did you possibly tell Android to restore apps and wifi from backup? Other then that it could be a misbehaving application. This can be a real headache because you would have to install all your apps one by one and wait a day or so before installing the next.

Yes open the recent apps window scroll to the top and click clear all.

I'd check to make sure your time is set automatically from the carrier.

Might try downloading a factory image and seeing if you can perform a clean install. If that doesn't fix it then it is most likely a hardware issue.

Where did you get the APK from? I'm not familiar with safe mode on Android, but might be able to eradicate it by loading into that. Then again it might be a whole lot easier to rest up your phone and apply one of the factory images straight from Google. Is be worried a reset device might...

Unless you are rooted and using something like Titanium Backup think I think you are out of luck. Maybe someone else has more input. Out of curiosity what happened over the last few days? Maybe one of the apps that updated caused issues.

Mine started doing this same thing and it's 23 days out of warranty. I'm all for hacking it but I can't even get fastboot unlock to work. It just says fastboot unlock not allowed.
