No physical or programming bugs for me...yet. Hoping to stay that way, but time will tell.

Mine did the same thing. I uninstalled the update. Hopefully there's a fix for it. You're right, it's unusable in its current state.

I've just given in and refused to actually power down my pre on the plane. I just put on airplane mode and put it in my pocket. It doesn't REALLY mess with the plane's systems...they proved it on Mythbusters, so it HAS to be true! LOL

One of the major issues that many of my friends/colleagues have had with the Pre hardware was with the headphone jack. Shockingly enough, Palm used a really cheap headphone jack that would get stuck in headset mode when you physically removed your headset, but the phone would keep recognizing...
