I had the same problem, but wiping the cache helped. go to settings - apps - all, find contacts and contacts storage and clear the cache. also in Contacts, hit the menu button - contacts to display - and click just the gmail contacts or your main list. It might help - it worked for me.

Re: Samsung Galaxy S4 - Kies Sync Problems after Latest firmware updates! "unsupported device alert" just checked this morning, and it looks like Kies 3 has an update, and now my sync tab is back! Buggy on first sync though, lots of conflicts between phone and calendar, but I can sort that out.
