    Reverse volume controls?

I've finally become fed up with the volume controls. wish the device in landscape move and the buttons at the top, I want the right button to raise the volume and the left to lower it. Even in portrait mode, having the up volume slider be at the bottom, is just not intuitive, so I'm looking...

Cracked screen but I didn't drop or smash it, a warning!

the screen is what costs most to produce. the rest are relatively dirt cheap electronics and materials. it may be smaller than a big screen TV, but it takes highly specialized processes to make a 1080p 7inch screen, not to mention it's not just a screen....it's layers of different...

What is Kit Kat all about??

Only difference I can really tell is they lowered the swipe acceleration sensitivity a little (which might give the illusion of smoother performance due to refresh rate since the slower speed allows for more transition frames over a smaller area), and the battery/wifi/camera icons are white...

Cracked screen but I didn't drop or smash it, a warning!

I think it's an inherent design flaw. the screens are machine pressed and glued on to the borders of the screen area, causing warping and the screen to be under constant tension. I very lightly use my N7, and it's already creaking a little at times. if you look at the reflection in your N7...

KitKat is official - let the countdown begin!

stuff you can generally do already. I don't think RAM is much of an issue for the nexus 7, I doubt anyone even fills the RAM near capacity. Main reason they added extra RAM was gaming, since it's shared system memory, a game taking up 500mb+ of video memory space, really eats into available...

    Nexus 7 2013 charging times?

the devices battery life is not quoted from maximum power usage at all times. you for example, can't max out your CPU/GPU and brightness and expect it to last the rated times. I personally find no need to up the brightness beyond auto, and most of the time indoors, you probably only need...

Used Nexus 7 - Need Advice on what to check before purchase

It would really only take 5 minutes to check it all out. the thing I would look for first is scratches on the screen. look close and from every angle. any scratches are a deal breaker, no matter how small. to me, even a tiny hairline scratch easily devalues the item by half. check for...

KitKat is official - let the countdown begin!

It's not like the update is going to be noticeable. it's more geared toward stuff for the nexus 5 that you won't get or notice in the nexus 7.

should i keep charging the tablet whenever possible?

the battery can be left on the charger. there is no risk of overcharging because the battery has circuitry that prevents over charging. people worry too much. the battery should be fine until the device is past its shelf life. these batteries are going to degrade whether you use them or not...

should i keep charging the tablet whenever possible?

charge it whenever you feel like. I micro charge throughout the day. if I think I'm going to not use it for an hour or so, I put it on the charger. micro charging is probably safer for battery life than larger charges, less stress per charge, both from loss and gain of charge.

Awaiting N7 random restart and reboot solution

a factory reset then updating all at once did the trick for me. random rebooted on me twice during first few days of owning. even got soft bricked. with the current updates, it's fixed. but unless you do a factory reset, the updates don't get applied correctly in some way and the bug still...

you can disable the screen lock. I'm a newbie to android and I figured it out within seconds.

Is the Nexus 7 screen too small

I'm going to settle this issue once and for all. the size doesn't matter as much as the resolution. the nexus 7 viewed from a foot away or less, is like viewing a regular 32 to 60+ inch TV across the room. go to one side of a room, then hold up your nexus 7 at normal viewing distance, and...

How your N7 affects your smartphone use?

here's how your respective devices should be used in tandem. smartphone should be used only outside of the home, fully mobile. tablet for indoors or in the car usage. I wouldn't even touch a smartphone at home or in a car unless it's to answer a call. I wouldn't bother to take a tablet...

    Fully-Charged Notification

too specific of a feature. the device takes maybe 2 hours to charge, do we really need a notification? what scenario does that come in handy where you need to know the EXACT second that the device is fully charged. a bit too obsessive compulsive. you can easily determine from the percentage...
