Just remapped my Bixby button to trigger Google assistant. So problem solved on that one. I like Google clocks alarms because they give you an option to have the sound gradually rise over 60 seconds, instead of full volume immediately. Still no luck with Waze

I was hoping to be able to say to Bixby "set my alarm for 8am", and have it set my Google clock app for the alarm time. Although I'm just realizing that if I use Google assistant instead of Bixby, it does work

Agreed! If anyone is able to set a different default navigation app on their Galaxy S8, please let me know how. p.s. I'm having the same issue when trying to use Google clocks instead of the Samsung clock

I tried that too. It still doesn't ask despite it being set to ask. I called Samsung and they told me "it's not possible to change the default navigation app on the Galaxy s8"

I just got off the phone with Samsung. I asked them "How do I set Waze as my default navigation app instead of using Google Maps on my Galaxy S8?" Their answer was "You can't do That" This is very frustrating. I switched from Apple to android to get away from these type of restrictions...

I set Waze to open "via this app", and i also went one step further an set Google Maps to "open in other apps Navigation links still open in Google without asking

Hi, when I go to settings>apps>Google Maps.... there is no option to click "defaults" instead, there is an option to "set as default" But, when I click this option, "clear defaults" is greyed out. I can't click it

I can't seem to change my default navigation app to Waze. On the "default apps" menu in settings, it only gives me the option to change my default browser, calling app, messaging app, and home screen. I can't find navigation anywhere.
