Elcubanito66, Would you mind letting me know the step by step instructions you took to do this because I have done all the research I can and considering rooting because my tab, with 4.2.2 won't shut off but I can get it into download and boot mode so I think I can apply an update that way but...

Was eager to try this but after trying your steps it failed to correct the issue, any ideas? I know my way around this stuff and it has me stumped....

Just got the Tab 2 last week and having this same frustrating issue. I saw this potential fix and was excited, however after doing all 3 options like you stated, it still opens up to the "about:blank" after tapping the "internet" app on the mainscreen. Any ideas tips or tricks to explore next?
