Galaxy S? II, Epic? 4G Touch d710 Desktop Dock

Since the desktop dock only engages the micro-usb (MHL) port on the phone (which as I understand only carries digital audio, not analog) yet has a stereo out jack on the back, it must incorporate some kind of digital to analog conversion circuitry... right?

    HTC MHL adapter??

I just noticed this and am curious if it will work with the E4GT. Amazon.com: iKross MHL micro-USB to VGA Display and Stereo Audio Adapter for HTC / Samsung Smartphone Connecting to TV & Monitor: Electronics I've been looking for a single-plug car solution for power in and analog audio out...

    USB Charging

By specification a powered USB data port can only deliver 500 mA of current. That's not enough to charge many devices while they are in use (using the device draws all or nearly all the power the port delivers), and often results in slow charging even when the device is not in use. This is...

When will the first update be out ?

My sense is that the E4GT has less significant issues requiring an update than virtually any other newly released Android device. Remember that people with no problems don't usually post on forums to report that fact.

Returning strictly due to Sprint's horrible data speeds

Yup, by the time Sprint pisses off all its customers and goes bankrupt the network will be awesome.

Reasons you dont want the Epic 4g Touch

The point is that you have a good experience using the data you bought. You can always buy more. Expensive yes, but you get what you pay for. There are no more free lunches in wireless data.

    800MHz or EVDO RevB

It is my understanding from multiple sources that Sprint smartphones from EVO 4G on all have the hardware for Rev B and need at most a software upgrade to use it.

    800MHz or EVDO RevB

Any statement from Sprint CS on this topic (and most others) is worth essentially nothing. Sprint does have a timeframe for network upgrades and we should know what it is on Oct. 7.

Reasons you dont want the Epic 4g Touch

Only if you are seriously into audio quality (lossless formats, high end headphones, etc.) and want to use your phone as your primary music player. Casual users playing low bitrate mp3s will be fine with the E4GT audio. Audiophiles will just have to resign themselves to not using it as their...

Returning strictly due to Sprint's horrible data speeds

Which is why I wrote "and/or." Lightsquared's problem is technical, their product interferes with GPS.

For everyone with data problems, I think I have found thesolution

Re: For everyone with data problems, I think I have found thesolu Sometimes getting a "data refresh" or re-provisioning does help. It's worth a try

3 days with the E4GT: The Good, The Bad, & the UGLY

Good review. I don't fault Sprint for not putting a token memory card in the box since the phone comes with 16 gigs onboard.

Returning strictly due to Sprint's horrible data speeds

It entirely depends on where you are. In many densely populated parts of Chicago the typical 4G speeds are significantly lower than you are getting, because the towers are overloaded.

Returning strictly due to Sprint's horrible data speeds

+1. I have friends on T-Mobile whose 4G data is throttled after they hit 2 Gb in a month -- their throttled speeds are equal or better to what I typically get on Sprint.
