When you restart it you'll get a message to activate cell service and you can just ignore that, then it should work like normal with blutooth and wifi (you'll have to repeat this every time you restart.) Just make sure you turn off the 3G option in the settings so it doesn't drain your battery...

Most likely you could sync it to your phone via blutooth and wifi, but not be able to activate it if it does come with 3G service

I know it won't work for all instances since there might be times you want to turn on the flashlight in silence, but I've found using Bixby to turn the flashlight on and off pretty handy. Don't even have to unlock the screen.

If you press and hold the power button does the message "Samsung Gear S2 Rebooting...." come up or does the screen still stay dark?

racrgrl - It should sync up fine with your S8, you just won't be able to activate the cell service for the S2. You'd just be using it basically like the wifi version except since it is the 3G version at least you'll have a speaker on the watch

I received the update and for Bixby I needed to accept the T&Cs and then it was working fine again. I still have the issue of voicemail pausing when I raise the phone up to my ear, the tip about disabling a feature in Samsung Pay didn't work for me.

For #1 I keep my phone on mute (no sounds or vibrate) and then have my watch set to vibrate. Then if I take off my watch for charging I turn on sound on the phone. Unfortunately I don't think there's a way to automatically change this when you put on or take off the watch. For #2 I think...

I seem to be having that problem since the update as well. If I go into the S2 messaging app and hit the microphone to reply, it shows it's hearing my voice fluctuate, but it isn't showing any text. Interestingly if I start from the s-voice widget and ask to send a message it does actually...

I pre-ordered on 3/31 and says will deliver by 4:30 on 4/19

It should arrive by the 21st but I think I got my S7 a little earlier than the in-store date last year. My pending order says shipping on the 21st so I hope that is just some sort of temporary placeholder date and updates to be sooner as the date gets closer.

I think I want to hold each and see. I've stuck with the regular S6 and S7 because I wasn't sure about using the edge. Now that both S8 and S8+ will have the edge I'll have to see how each feels in the hand.

Installing Android Wear on your Note 2 might help with some of the other application notifications like being able to respond to Hangouts notifications, but I don't think you can view Facebook posts on the watch, it just gives you the notification and if you click on it it says click to show on...

I haven't tried this but I wonder if you turn your display to "always on" if it will stay on the music widget the entire time? of course the trade-off will be the battery drain while you're working out with the watch face on the whole time but maybe it's worth it for easier control of your music
