I like the display on this device. It reminds me of the Note 4 and 5, before Samsung went all scorched earth saturation looney tunes cartoony. This looks more professional and doesn't hurt my eyes, which caused me to lean more towards LG and Apple.

I will probably use this feature in the evening, when my phone is lying on the dresser. I can't tell you how many times I hit my home button to check the time, or unlock it to check a date on the Calender. I'll also use it while it charges over night. I feel like this "gimmick" was implemented...

I had both for about a month. The s4 ended up suiting my personal needs better. It's not perfect by any means, but I find the s4 to be a livelier experience. Great for work, even better for play. Also not a Samsung fanboy, as my last 2 phones have been HTCs.

Same problem here. I love this phone to death, and now I find myself using features daily that people told me were gimmicks and I would never use.

If you mean the 5' gorgeous display with rich deep blacks, I love it! The HTC One also has a awesome display, so there is no need to play that game.

That's the problem, it's a minority opinion.
