True but I would return it if it was as bad as the demo unit at Verizon as well. I do think they have done a lot of stealth fixes.

The Pixel 2 XL phone display is in a different world entirely from the s4 screens. I came from the Note 4 and there is simply no comparison whatsoever. The Pixel 2 XL screen is very very good. Mine has none of the issues bandied around here, in fact it had less color shift or image darkening...

I had the Essential and got the Pixel 2 XL because with the recent Target deal of instant $250 combined with the Verizon $300 off deal, it was actually cheaper. I really liked the Essential, and think the PH-2 could be killer, but the Pixel XL2 is a better phone. I do like the Essential design...

Nor the most scientific or relevant opinion, but compared to the Note 4 I cam from the camera is pretty awesome. Every shot I have taken seems really good to me. Even tested it taking a pic of my wallet on a dark table in a restaurant and that came out well. I can see where it would struggle...

I have the same case and like it quite a bit. I haven't had any issues with the finger print reader using the case. It provides great protection. I have been super careful not to drop it, but wound up tripping and the phone flew onto concrete from about 5 feet and it didnt get a scratch.

Mu battery life is ridiculously good. I came from a Note 4 that would last maybe half a day, less than 2 hours of screen time. I am getting though an entire day with 40% left easily with normal usage.

I really havent had any issues. Only "issue" is no visual voice mail, but that is a Verizon being a **** thing, not a phone thing. No lag, hanging, touch issues, jitters or anything like that. It is super fast. It has failed to recognize my fingerprint a couple times but that is about it...
