Mine broke in the same way, also. I didn't even have it for a week, and I was very gentle with it. Sounds like there's a defect with how the rubber was glued on the some of the S5's out there. I temporarily Gorilla Super Glued the rubber piece back on there, and it seems to hold (at least better...
