In your opinion, what is the most customizable phone in terms of UI, notifications, status bar, interactivity, etc? A phone that seems to really cater to those who might be more like to root phones (but would rather not). Would love to hear what devices come to mind and your thoughts on them...

Newbie here. But I have what was a pretty useful trick. My 8 year old was sick the day after I bought 2 new minis. I put one in his room and set up IFTTT so that my son could mumble in his sickness "OK Google, Get my dad" and then I would immediately get an SMS telling me my son needed me...

Yeah, basically keeps you w them for two years paying for their services. They probably aren't making much of anything on this... But they've got us for another two years. I'll take it.

I can say, I am sure my Verizon Pixel 2xl is locked, but I don't have any annoying crap apps on my phone like I did on my last Verizon (S7). Why the hell did Verizon think I wanted an NFL app on my phone... that I couldn't uninstall?! Nothing dumb like that this time.
