You'll want to look at NFC Task Launcher in the Google Play store. Any old NFC tag will work, and good prices can be found on Amazon. If you use Llama for other things, it will also do things based on an NFC tag. but NFC Task Launcher is what I would recommend.

Two minutes of root would be sufficient to erase the damned wireless charging sound. (Or replace it with silence.)

One thing I've noticed is that it only makes the sound if the battery is below some threshold charge. I haven't figured out if that threshold is 90% or 95%. Have you NOT heard the sound when the charge level was below that and the ringer wasn't silent?

Actually, my Galaxy Nexus could still read the tag, and I erased it with NFC Task Launcher. Afterwards, my Maxx can read it again, but still no luck using the Skip software.

Same thing happened to me with my tag (NTAG203 I think). It's dead as a doornail now. Ah well, I wonder if the actual Skip will work.

aue123- that's the same thing I get, but the charging sound (even the once) is loud enough to wake my wife. Silencing the ringer is not an option for everyone, and unfortunately, the wireless charging sound is linked to ringer volume rather than notification volume for some strange reason.
