Been working sporadically here. Sometimes it takes a while to load then pops up, other times I still get connection timed out then after 1 or 2 retries, it will load slowly. At least some progress is being made, but still some work to be done clearly

Mine was working this morning, but back to connection timed out this afternoon (NY time)

Oh well if they aren't going to fix the issue, I won't spend any $ in play store (since I can't) and I will go back to Apple when my contract is up.

I could see about the recommendations engine, it always seems to act funny after I can get on the front page sporadically. I thought it could have been related to the 1 month free google music pass that I had with my chromebook because If I could manage to get into the main page, all sections...

Nope not ever, not tech savvy enough to learn how to do that. I am 100% stock, that's why I got Nexus 7 and Moto X

Same brother, I too have given up all hope. At least I can still update my apps and such but browsing the store is a thing of the past it seems. Oh well I guess I don't really need any of that crap anyway! VZW Moto X 4.4.2 and N7 2013 4.4.2 both with newest play store update still not working...

Kudos for going back and forth with Google. I couldn't find out how to contact them. Still having issues, can't purchase anything. Google help me give you money!!!

Still having issues, Going on my 3rd week with the problem. Wow

I tried fixes above, I got the connection error a few times after, then after pressing retry a couple times I got into play store. I've closed the app a few times and store opened again. Going to continue to monitor but so far looking good! Edit: Spoke to soon :( getting connection timed out again

VZW Moto X 4.4.2 and N7 2013 4.4.2 still unable to connect after 2 weeks now. I can use the search workaround to continue to update apps, but cannot get to the main screen still

Having the same issue on both my Verizon Moto X (MotoMaker) and Nexus 7 tablet. It's been about a week with the issue of "Connection Timed Out", I was able to temporarily fix it by doing the clock fix (changing time) but it goes right back to the error after the app is closed. Frustrating. Seems...
