This solved the email sync problem on my Samsung Galaxy Note 3. Talked to Verizon for almost an hour and we could not find the "Master Sync" setting in the settings menu. It kept saying "Master Sync is turned off" when we selected the green sync arrow. Coach Tuff because of your suggestion...
