I really hope that they get it figured out soon. I've been a GV user since I begged for an invitation so many years ago. I liked the idea of combining it with Hangouts, but like with most things Google, it might look good on paper, but not so practical. Surely an update will roll out soon enough.

Programs, yes, but you can back them up with Titanium or Rom Toolbox, etc before factory reset. You will only loose pictures and videos if they are on the physical memory of the phone. If they are on your SD card you will be fine.

Can you just flash a Verizon Note2 kit Kat rom?

What do you mean by "Google Now no longer reads your email"? I didn't know it had that option.

When I click on the recent tab under the phone dialer it always shows all contact I have had with everyone, texts, calls, etc. All I want to see are calls. I hit the menu button to show calls only. Go back later and it's showing all communication again including people I've texted. Any fix...

That's not accurate at all. Google doesn't replace your music with anything. Especially a clean version. My NWA collection is completely intact with all the F bombs I love to hear. I think the problem you have is believing everything you read on the Internet is true.

Just read this thread yesterday and wouldn't you know it, my phone got one today. Scared a little pee out of me since my was on vibrate. It was an Amber Alert for 2 kids in Florida.
