You missed the "~" which means kind of like but not exactly. LG could make the equivalent of a 5.5" Nexus, call it something else and load an unmodified version of Android OS. The name is just a name.

No, your $30 is more than enough to pay for inferstructure. A better analogy is a landlord that bans their tenants from using the bathroom because you can pee out the window.
