I'm also having the same issue and this is after having my new phone for about 3-4 weeks! I can receive and make calls but I cannot send texts all of a sudden, and no idea why!!
Re: Digital Keyboard won't appear
I tried to select the all button but the option of Touch Keyboard was not available in my list. I searched through and no fix could be found. Rebooting the phone looks like the only option that works. :(
