Try clearing the cache on any apps that send files or photos, I have this problem I'm using textra & it seems to be an issue after I've sent a photo. I think there is some kind of network hangup going on because all of the solutions people are suggesting tend to reset or clear the mobile network...

ROOT is much more than removing bloat, it's fixing the high ram use, battery drain & other functions you couldn't otherwise do with a phone you paid made $$$ for.

I had this same question (which is how I found yours)! Seems like every once in awhile it just will not wake up, it does this thing where the two bottom buttons light up but the screen stays black, nothing short of pulling the battery out will fix the problem which is a real pain in the ****...
