A factory reset is actually recommended after any major update. I avoid it only because it's a pain to get everything back the way I want it. But if you are having any issues a factory reset might clear things up.

Yep. That's exactly what I was thinking. I have the Gear VR so that was on my mind. I decided I don't use it so much that I couldn't live without it until the official release. Kind of surprises me the Samsung Gear watch didn't work with the Samsung phone out of the gate.

it says right on the download info that the beta is not compatible with the Gear. You'll either have to wait for the official or roll back to 6 if this is a deal breaker for you. This is the beta just released [I am on Sprint if that might make a difference].
