I went back another day to our area Walmart and it worked OK. Just needed to press OK a couple of times on Walmart's CC terminal when it prompted me for my PIN, and then on the 3rd prompt for my PIN, I put in my debit card's actual PIN....and it went thru immediately.

Where is the store that accepted Samsung Pay? Our local store in California told us they only accept Walmart Pay now :( Did you use it in the Electronics dept by chance? Some people say its working in Elec dept but not up front. Hope this gets cleared up.

I ended up using an alternate google voice number....but I really like the features of whatsapp...too bad it doesnt do sms, also....and NONE of my USA contacts use it. I figure it must be a Euro thing.

Sorry I have not used textra....but I can confirm that Verizon Messages+ in the play store does have a mssg pop up over lock screen, I used it every day. So far no complaints about Verizon Mssages on my Note 3. I love being able to reply to mssgs on my tablet or desktop, also. I didn't think it...

As a follow up: I have downloaded & installed Verizon Messages+ and found that it also has message popup and quick reply (also over lock screen). It also seems to have more features than Textra (though i have not tested Textra yet). So far i am happy with my choice.

Verizon Messages is free app but with it's size (40 mb) and errors, I will take a pass for now. Stock sms with it's latest updates isn't too bad. I just wish the 'scheduled messages' feature wasn't disabled by Verizon.
