Assuming you are not using Exchange? I also use the free Google Calendar Sync, which has now been discontinued, but works pretty well. Google Sync is a different product and is still available to set up for new devices until January 30, 2013, when it becomes available only to paid Google App...

I forgot to mention that I swear I have read that Skype on mobile data works better over 3G than 4G due to the codecs it uses. This does not make sense to me, but I read it on the internet so it must be true, right?:)
