You really ought to consider switching to a modern verizon plan (I'm assuming you are on a grandfathered UDP). Have you tracked how much data you actually use? 14GB/mo + 1 phone is currently $100/mo and tethering is totally allowed now.

Another interesting thing about the CDMA and LTE bands for Verizon, is that Verizon's CDMA voice network is now exclusively on 850MHz (according to wikipedia.) Yet both HTC's site and Verizon's HTC10 page show that the HTC10 does not support CDMA on 850MHz. Rather the specs show it supports...

So then, since the *unlocked* HTC10 works on band 13, isn't Verizon legally compelled to allow it on their network?

Main reason for me is coverage. Their network is miles ahead of every other netwok in coverage. After that, it's price. They are actually very price-competitive (at least for my plan with an employer discount of 20%). I pay $105 for three smart phones and 10GB data on their old "more...

The other problem is that the unlocked version is $699, and if you opt to pay over 24 months with VZW your cost is only $548. $151 is a big difference, bloat or not. Hmmm... tough call.

Great thread. What did you decide? I'm on the fence between these two phones myself (would buy either one new, no trade involved.)

Despite being told from two different live-chat support reps at htc.com that it will work on Verizon (and others here getting the same info), I just don't buy it. The listed specs don't line up well with Verizon's published bands/frequencies. I'm no expert on what each frequency band is used...
