I think it's rude to hand a cashier a $800 device and expect them to be responsible for it. You know if they dropped it all hell would break loose. I keep a card in my phone case for this reason. If I can easily reach over I do, otherwise I'm handing them a card.

Pretty close. I've had it say it's cleared only to decline a short while later, and I've had to whip out a different card only for Samsung Pay to claim that the original cleared after all when it really didn't, or have BOTH claim it's cleared.

Kind of as you pointed out, at the moment the biggest problem is simply this: WHY IN BLAZES REMOVE IT? Apple did it, but Apple regularly does stuff just to be annoying claiming it's brilliant. Sometimes it is, sometimes it's not. Plenty of other phone manufacturers have proved you can KEEP it...
