It could possibly have happened if those apps updated. Other than that, I'm not sure why that would be happening. My apps that use the fingerprint sensor seem to be working well.

My phone only has the security update from April. I'm not able to get the July update. Does anyone else have a newer update? Every time I do a "Check for update" the screen says my system is up to date.

I didn't have much problem registering my thumbprint. My only issue is remembering to hold it on the screen long enough. I'm coming from a 3aXL.

Both of my kids got the updates - 3a and 4a, but I haven't gotten mine on my 3aXL. They are not fond of everything being so big and the bounce effect when scrolling. I haven't tried to manually update for just those reasons. Oh, and they really hate the huge clock on the lock screen too.

My mom had no issues at all. We have had issues buying a refurbished Pixel phone that was a Verizon phone and couldn't use it on a GSM network.

I'm still using my 3aXL that I got at launch. One son is still using his 3a and other son got a 4a for his birthday last Nov. No issues with any of the phones. I generally keep my phones until they are unbearable to use, generally in the 3yr range.

Thank you. Her voicemail seems to work fine. I was under the assumption that Verizon had a special app for voicemail, one that would transcribe the messages. Evidently she was using the stock VM on her previous phone too, which was a VZ-branded phone.

Ah, okay. Thank you both! My previous car charger had the built-in USBC cord and would fast charge my phone.

Actually, my mom isn't interested in 5G, she just wanted a better phone with a bigger screen. And I did notice on her phone the other day that it did say 5G at the top. Her plan is only for the 4G/LTE or whatever Verizon offers. I'm on AT&T (Cricket).

My mom just purchased an unlocked 4a 5G to use with her Verizon pre-paid account. We didn't feel that paying the extra $140 was worth it. What does she use now for voicemail now that she doesn't have any of the Verizon apps? Are there any other Verizon apps/services that we need to put on her...
