Samsung released several training videos in youtube. It says the best position is hovering half inch above and matching the camera to the mag swipe reader.- Koinod21

The green check mark appears when Samsung pay is using NFC and successful. With MST, there is no check mark because the phone doesn't know the transaction until it gets the notification from server. I am not sure what happened to you but hope you to try again soon.- Koinod21

It looks like that Samsung Pay transmit different track sequences in 1st and 2nd (blue retry button). At Lowe's I also had success with retry.- Koinod21
