Check your mobile network. Go to Settings/Mobile Networks/Network Mode (at least on my S3) and see what is selected. My phone was vibrating every time I lost service, and "Global" was checked. I'm on Verizon so I switched it to CDMA/LTE/EVDO and the problem went away!
