    Car mount for 2XL

Strongly agree. I have been using a Proclip mount for several years; my XL2 is the 3rd phone on same mount. I purchased an adjustable holder instead of a form-fitting holder for my last phone to accommodate an Otterbox case; I simply adjusted the mount for the XL2. I've considered a magnetic...

    Android 5.0.2 OTA

2013 32GB Nexus Wifi only. Eastern US location. Missed out on the initial 5.0 OTA (ignored the announcement message, then it vanished). Just tried "check for system updates" and saw 5.0.2 was available. Downloaded quickly enough, feels like 15-30 minutes to do the reboot, install, and...

    Anyone try the GoCuff?

According to their site, the HTC One M8 fits: https://www.gocuff.com/discover/compatible-phones.html I'd assume without a case or with only a thin case. I'd like to know (and should contact them) how well this works with long sleeves (all the example photos show short sleeves/sleeveless wear).

    Car dock or mount thing?

I had excellent results using a Proclip mount (Car Phone Holders and Dashboard Phone Mounts - ProClip USA) with my old HTC Droid Incredible. Replaced the Droid (cracked screen) with an HTC One M8 when several retailers were having the seriusly reduced price sale after Thanksgiving. While I can...

    Nexus 7: screen protector recommendations?

Re: screen protector recommendations? I've been using a Zagg Invisi-Shield. It's also a wet-apply, and installed and works well for me (I tend to be 2 left thumbs applying these things). Gerryp is correct - the native glass is pretty good by itself. I, however, prefer the extra protection. I...

Tether Nexus 7 tablet to android phone

Re: Tether Nexus 7 tablet to android phone UPDATE A kludgy workaround is to have a wifi hotspot other than from the phone (doesn't have to actually connect to anything) and connect the tablet to that 1st. You can then bring up the phone connection (Easy Tether in my case) and it works...

    Is this a good cover?

IMO, OK, but the I think the Poetic Slimline raymaane recommended is better: No cutout for the back camera. The slot for power and volume controls is OK, but the individual slots on the Poetic case makes it simple to hit the correct button with eyes closed. No cutouts for the speakers. The...

Is there an app I can see on a Nexus 7 with a phone or computer?

LogMeIn may have products that may do what you want (Rescue+Mobile on her tablet, Ignition on your end?). I can't tell if that is enough to make it work, or if Rescue only works with approved support organizations and they want to sell the remote support service themselves.

    EasyTether Pro and KitKat

Last (?) update: Tablet is now running stock 4.4.2. EasyTether Pro's bluetooth & USB tethering work as long as I first establish and maintain a wifi connection to an access point (not the phone) without internet access. Killing the wifi AP brings down the tethering connection. Haven't tried...

    4.4.2 borks bluetooth?

Running 4.4.2 for a day or 2 here, stock system. No problems observed with BT to-date, primarily using it as a phone tether.

Re: nova launcher update Installed it last night. So far, so good.

    Nexus7 (2013) 4.4.2 Update

4.4.2 was available for OTA install as soon as I got home last night and had wifi access (none at work & USB or BlueTooth phone tethering hasn't been working under 4.4). Never saw 4.4.1. Easy install onto stock system and no obvious issues observed. Sadly, bluetooth tethering (left OTA...

USB Flash Drive With Unrooted N7 2013

Nexus Media Importer works quite well for me (stock N7 2, Kit Kat 4.4) with USB 2.0 sticks. I do not have any USB 3 devices to test. 32GBytes is largest I have tried. As best I can tell, non-rooted systems do not mount external storage where other apps on the Nexus can access it; e.g. a USB...

Does the Nexus 7 (2013) fit in the S4 dock

Get a case that props up the Nexus at the appropriate angle. Or a plate holder (what the older female members of my family use to display fancy dishes in china cabinets, etc.).

    EasyTether Pro and KitKat

May be a probelm in how KitKat treats the VPN created by EasyTether Tablet - the EasyTether folks posted on the Google Play page that bluetooth networking doesn't work with KitKat unless you first create a dummy wifi connection (no internet access). Verified it worked at home using a...
