Are you using Screen Filter or any app that lowers the screen brightness lower than system default? Turn it off and things should work fine. :)

Hi, same user here. Nope, I uninstalled then rebooted for good measure and reinstalled but the same thing happens. Seems it's not 4.2.1 either since a user in another forum running CM10.1 has it working to some extent...
