Just had this happen to my phone, and all my pictures came out upside down. Saw this and rolled my eyes but tried it anyways because it's in a ballistic case, and it definitely worked like a charm. No clue why it turned upside down, I was messing with settings all over the place.. but this fixed...

I definitely tried this, and while it seemed to work for a couple days, it did not stay fixed, and soon even if I used this trick it was back to its old ways. Nothing fixes this except calling someone and immediately hanging up before it completely connects.

Mobile networks is gray when the problem is going on.. But, making a call that fixes the problem also brings mobile networks back up and running. Just tried your solution, I'll post back if I have further issues.
