    1.47.651.1 rooted ROM? Post here!

Hey Guys, There has been a new development over at XDA: How to start over: From original stock to rooted latest OTA, no adb needed! - xda-developers I have NOT attempted this yet but have been following the Radio/WiMax issue for several days. This method appears to work but is hit or miss...

[How To] Unroot and return to stock [RUU Method]

Thanks LJ. I might try this to resolve an issue I have been experiencing. Actually I don't think it will do anything to "fix" my problem, just confirm that I either have a bad phone or a provisioning issue. I'm currently waiting on a reply from Sprint so its nice to know this option is...

    Can't UNroot

LJ, At least we know its possible.... You did what? Can you repeat that :) Joking of course... Printing and saving for future (hopefully unneeded) reference. THX.

    Can't UNroot

I guess I either didn't read thoroughly, I'm tired or just confused. :o Can't figure out if RUU was tried or not? Was always under the assumption that you simply ran an executable with the phone hooked up. Flashing an "extracted zip file"....I'm having root flashbacks. :D Just keepin' it...

    Can't UNroot

Holy $hit...this is un-comforting news. I always thought it was as simple as running the RUU (exe) file. Apparently not. I only envisioned un-rooting in the case of warranty work or other issues that might be handled by Sprint. Always figured I would run some type of "modded" ROM. Guess I'm...

[How-To]Windows -- root your HTC Evo and install Clockwork recovery

This is a glitch that I (and others) have experienced. Instead of having the phone in "Disk Mode" switch it to "Charge Only". Even though you will not be able to browse the disk via windows, you will still be able to complete the required commands. After switching to charge only, re-execute all...

[How-To]Windows -- root your HTC Evo and install Clockwork recovery

YUP...that was it Updated to latest build (2.0.0.0) and flashed latest recovery (2.0.1.0) and voila...Wipe Dalvik appears under advanced button in recovery. Thanks..

[How-To]Windows -- root your HTC Evo and install Clockwork recovery

I appreciate that info liquidjesus. When you say "go to the advanced button" do you mean in recovery? If so... I do NOT have "Clear Dalvik" there. Only options are "Reboot Recovery", "Back", "Wipe Battery Stats" and "Key Test". I'm using a 2.0.0.5 recovery image if that matters. Thanks again.

Baseband 1.39.00.05.31 Radio Update in ROM Manager?

Don't know about doing it "through" ROM Manager but I did successfully flash this update by booting into recovery and selecting the "flash from zip" option. Of course the zip file needed to be on the sdcard so that I could navigate to it. Worked fine. I assume that doing it directly from the...

    Best SMS app?

Yep...eactly what I did and selected Handcent...no workie...just kept showing a spinning icon which showed up again even after a FC. Only way to get it to disappear was to send another message to someone. Weird but like I said it could be me. I will play with it later. Thanks!

An app to to map GPS coordinates.

I use this as well. Great app but unless I missed something it doesn't have a "mapping" feature? I concur that either Google Maps or Google Earth should offer what the OP is wanting. Just need to figure out how to enter those coord's and insure that you are using the proper format for Lat & Long.

    Best SMS app?

Been using handcent and it has problems sending MMS. I haven't really explored the issue much so it could be a setting on my end but it really frustrated me today. Just wanted to send a pic to my son who is away from home and he never got it. I'm going to give chomp a try and attempt to solve...

Anyone see this new way to root?

I was following the thread yesterday and it seemed very rough..Good idea but I agree that following the step by step method allows for better troubleshooting. Some have indicated success..
