I have the same problem on my Galaxy S5 Verizon. I want to hear and feel the notifications, but I don't want the screen to turn on. If my phone is locked, it is not a problem. It lights up the screen for 3 seconds, and goes back to dark. If it is unlocked and dark, and a notification comes in...

The only change I have made to my HTC Rezound after a bunch of experiments, is removing Key Ring. Have not had any problems since Saturday. It was doing the "HTC Sense unexpectedly stopped" about 10 times a day... After pressing OK, it then rebooted that resource/app and the desktop reappeared...

I dumped Key Ring and have not had any problems since Saturday. I hope this is it. I see it doesn't fix everyone's phone though.

Hgoldner, try removing a widget and adding it back on. That seems to induce the problem on mine. Actually I found removing and adding shortcuts brings the problem too. Thanks for all your work on this!

I don't think everyone thinks it is the Talk > Hangout update. I know I don't think it is. One person on this thread reverted back to Talk (removed updates) and still had the problem.

I wonder if it is widget related? I'm thinking about simply removing all my widgets for awhile and seeing if that stops it. I can make it fail fairly consistently crash by adding and removing a widget of an app that I only recently download. Adding a widget probably does a bunch of calls on HTC...

It has been happening to my Rezound too, but not my wifes. It started the 5/21/13. There were other apps that updated on my phone that day, along with the Talk replacement; Hangouts. I wish Google would give us a simple list of what updated and when on the website. It seem to present the message...
