I rooted my phone and when you said to use the app to flash the boot img. of the rom do you mean to select the rom .zip file and then go into recovery to flash the whole rom? Because I was thinking of flashing CM10 [10-29-12][ROM] CM10 for the evoLTE! - butta! - xda-developers or Paranoid...

Which rom and I might need help with all of this.

I wan't to be able to install a Jelly Bean ROM or any of the other sense based roms that are on the latest RUU, for that would I have to do the RUU thing on the pc and I was wondering if I was still rooted or not.

It wouldn't let me go into recovery so i just took the sd card out and plugged it into my pc, about to do the update.

No and no I never needed to any of that until now.

I get error 170 saying it's not connected.

I went into recovery but it said it wasn't connected even though i had it mounted, was i suppose to do anything specific in recovery so the exe can recognize my phone.

I'm trying that right now, do you know how to flash an RUU without having an os? Like flashing it through recovery somehow, because I think it might be the RUU.
