Its been months, Chrome is still laggy. What gives?

If you look at these interactive lists of Google's thousands of open issues on Chrome, the number of "Stars" show how many times developers and users have indicated their concern over each issue. Issues with the Status "Assigned", "Started", etc. are the issues that Google has decided to work...

Some things I noticed on Verizon's Note 2

If you look at Google's 10's of thousands of open issues on Android, the number of "Stars" shows how many times developers and users have indicated their concern over each issue. Issues with the Status "Assigned", "Needs Info", "Reviewed", etc. are the issues that Google has decided to work on...

CPU usage never goes below 30%, why?

In the past my phones would overheat and I'd find the CPU pegged high over 90%. The culprit was always the stock Android browser, even if I wasn't using the browser. I switched to using the Maxthon browser and never again have had a high CPU usage problem. But web browsing with Maxthon still...

CPU usage never goes below 30%, why?

Or you can go into Data Usage in the Settings on your phone and see a timeline graph of data usage and totals for each app. Click on an app to see its timeline and a breakdown of foreground and background.

Very strange. What do you see if you do a "top' in a terminal emulator? -Load a terminal emulator app -Enter "top -m 5 -n 1" without the quotes to display the top 5 processes one time. You should see information including the percent usage, fg or bg (foreground/background), the app user ID or...

CPU usage never goes below 30%, why?

You may have a "kworker" or other system/kernel process issue. Try checking the CPU usage of system processes with your usage monitor app or with an app like Watchdog or System Tuner. For more info try Googling the Internet for "kworker load"

    moto wants stock devices

Good tip! I back up frequently then restore the old version if I don't like an update. But this week when I didn't like the update to the X-plore file manager Google Play Store would not allow me to re-install an older version. So I'm stuck with the Ice Cream Sandwich updated version that has...
