Yes, the camera saves to the SD card by default.

Yes, the permissions are granted to both read and write the SD card and internal storage and Photos backs up the gallery. It just won't free up the space.

When I used an Honor 5X, the "free up space" feature of Google Photos worked very well. I can't get it to work on my Honor 7X. Google Photos says that all photos are backed up and if I visit my Google account, I can see them all. However, when I tap "Free up space" I see the message "Use free...

I'd even settle for that. The last security patch was January 1, 2017.

What scares me in all this is that Huawei isn't even issuing security updates and I'm worried that if it contains the Broadcom WiFi radio, that it's vulnerable to the Kracker exploit. I don't care if I get a new Android version as long as the security patches are available.

I guess Honor has reneighed on the commitment.
