Connecting Note 10.1 2014 to Sony Display

Well, the Roku Streaming Stick arrived. I have both good and bad news to report. On the good side, it's a lot better than I thought it was going to be for streaming movies and television programmes - even though my router is a floor and a room away the Roku is reporting a very strong signal and...

Connecting Note 10.1 2014 to Sony Display

I've now done a lot of research and I'd like to thank everyone for their suggestions. I've looked at the various Miracast dongles and they get pretty much the same reviews - useful, but not always reliable thanks to latency and streaming speeds. Not much we can do about that, at least until the...

Connecting Note 10.1 2014 to Sony Display

I've been doing some research overnight and I'm still confused. I don't know why I would need the router? It seems that the dongle (which might be the Chromcast or the Belkin Miracast) would do the job on its own - it would communicate with my tablet and mirror whatever is on my screen, kind of...

Connecting Note 10.1 2014 to Sony Display

Thanks everyone for the replies - so the D Link device becomes a Wi-Fi hub (meaning I don't need to be in a location where they provide Wi-Fi) because it generates the Wi-Fi itself, much like a Bluetooth device would generate Bluetooth? Sorry for my current lack of understanding that this is...

Connecting Note 10.1 2014 to Sony Display

But if I can't get Wi-Fi in the locations I'm in then I guess I wouldn't be able to use a Wi-Fi access router? I'm afraid I don't know how they work but I'll look them up.

Connecting Note 10.1 2014 to Sony Display

I've recently purchased a Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 and I'm very impressed with it. One of the main reasons I bought it was for running presentations when I'm away on business, because carting my laptop around can be quite impractical. However I have run into a worrying problem. After quite a lot of...

Should I upgrade my new Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 to Kitkat?

Well, I have just tried running YouTube through the app (rather than through my browser like I would on my desktop PC) and the quality is vastly better - no more fuzziness or blockiness. I can't think why the videos look so bad when I access Youtube through the (Chrome) browser.

Through Chrome. I agree with you on the apps - I don't like the Facebook one.

Should I upgrade my new Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 to Kitkat?

Thank you Traylaw - I will definitely look at the Nova Launcher. I've no idea why Youtube is so ghastly, whereas BBC I player runs beautifully.

Should I upgrade my new Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 to Kitkat?

I can't remember if I did the restart after the update, I may have forgotten. EDIT: on reflection, I did a bit of configuring after the update and then I turned it off for about an hour whilst I went and did something else. I'm not sure if that would count as being relevant to the reboot?

Should I upgrade my new Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 to Kitkat?

Well, it did the update automatically without asking me, so I haven't had an opportunity to compare previous performance with the current update. Everything seems okay, but I've noticed on my website the slideshow on the Homepage is very juddery, and YouTube videos are quite poor. Is this normal...

Does my brand-new Note 10.1 2014 have a charging problem?

Thank you, it does seem to have settled. On the first day of use from a full first charge I did just basic light tasks such as configuring, e-mails etc and I got 7 1/2 hours to 25% charge remaining. I then plugged it in to charge and it was fully charged in 5 1/2 hours. I have made sure I am not...

Does my brand-new Note 10.1 2014 have a charging problem?

Well, it finally completed its first charge at 5:30 AM - that's a whopping 16 hours!! I'm finding that a little scary.

That's interesting - what does it do?
