Funny, I'm also in NYC and get great reception and 4G speeds from Sprint...Anyway, as said before, you won't be able to use your EVO on Verizon, they use different technologies even though they are both CDMA.

As far I know, there is nothing to suggest the EVO won't be getting Gingerbread or any other updates. Aside from the Nexus-series phones, no other phones have either...let's just hold on tight a bit longer and we'll see soon enough.

What's the point of your post? To tell you that you don't like Sprint or that you like the iPhone better than Androids? Go pay $35 at a Sprint Store and they'll fix it on the spot...or go get the iPhone and good luck with Apple's warranty policies.

Go to Settings -> System Updates and make sure you're phone is up to date on the software and firmware. Then try again on the messaging box.

Frequently when I click on a SMS Message to read and reply I get a different contact person and message than intended. Sometimes I don't pay attention and end up texting the wrong person. I'm running Android 2.2

I went from a Blackberry Curve 8900 to the EVO 4G. The apps for blackberry were inferior to everything else out in the market and I just got fed up. Also, my contract with T-Mobile was up and the new blackberries at the time were basically the same as two years ago when I got the Curve. Not...

I got my EVO in December 2010 and don't regret it at all, even after the CES announcements for all the upcoming smartphone devices. I always say to people to never try to play catch-up with technology cause it's always EVOlving and you'll end up spending a lot of money. Just my 2 cents.
