    It's gone quiet.....

I have been using Pixel since its release last year but I am still using the Nexus 6 as 6-inch mini tablet with data only Fi sim card.

Nexus 6 Not Updated to 7.1.1 nor May & June Security Updates

I am on Fi and my last OTA was for Jan 2017 patch level. I ended up sideloading the OTA for June 2017. As of now, Nexus 6 is semi EOL, so I do not expect regular OTAs from Google, DIY is the way to go.

Nexus 6 as LTE data-only tablet?

I have been using mine with data-only Project Fi sim. You should be able to use yours with AT&T data-only sim with no issue. A few caveats though, you won't be able to make phone calls, viber, WhatsApp and the likes won't work properly because they are tied to phone numbers. Skype, Hangout work...

Using AT&T service on Verizon Google Pixel

Re: Using AT&T service on Verizon Google Pixel It is usually slower with AT&T for security updates and much much slower for OS upgrades. I got Nougat upgrade notification immediately after switching to Fi sim card from AT&T for my Nexus 6. I am using Pixel now on Fi and have not regretted...

Would a factory reimage fix the slow lagginess of my Nexus 9?

I did factory reset on mine when I still owned it. Nope, did not help at all. Due to general lagginess, even audio playback can have unwanted "noises" as if the CPU attempted to catch up with the audio stream and kept failing. I experienced the same problem with my Nexus 7 (2012) when I still...

Is owning a Nexus 6 in 2016 worth sticking with?

I have had my N6 since last year and it has become as close to "perfect" as it can be for a smartphone to me. It is fast, it is responsive, it has BIG beautiful screen, it has wireless charging and after MM, the battery life is phenomenally better. I really couldn't expect more. The removal of...

    Facebook app

Facebook and Instagram apps are well-known battery killers. For me, the bigger offender was Instagram. Once I removed the app, the battery life skyrocketed. Now I only access Facebook and Instagram through the browser.

Anyone get the May Security update OTA?

Just got it an hour ago on my Nexus 6. Patch level is May 1, 2016 and build number is MMB30G. I am on AT&T but I bought the handset directly from Motorola.

    Android equivalent to imessage?

Use WhatsApp, you and your wife will be happier in the long run. Like it or not, WhatsApp now commands the lion's share of IM userbase. I use an iPad and love it too but I generally stay clear of being tied to Apple-exclusive services, such as, iTunes, iCloud, iMessage, iWhatever, etc whenever I...

Nexus 6 vs 5x - need help choosing

Nexus 6 has qi wireless charging. Nexus 5X does not. That is the biggest difference as far as I am concerned. Posted via the Android Central App

Darn, Nexus 6 dropped into toilet. That stinks...

It is unofficially water resistant so best of luck there. This is unlike the latest Samsung S7 phones that do have official water proof ratings. Posted via the Android Central App

    Would you leave the Nexus??

As much as I am annoyed with the removal of Qi wireless charging starting with Nexus 5X/6P, I would never leave Nexus for pure Google Android experience and the guaranteed availability of factory images for DIY update in case of OTA unavailability for whatever reason (AT&T - I am talking about you).

It's March. Still no OTA to Marshmallow

If you can afford to factory reset, flashing factory image is just one more step beyond factory reset. Either way, you lose all your settings, apps and data and you have to restore from backups, redownload the apps. I would say screw OTA at this point.

    A 6P review from a Nexus 6 fan

As a current N6 owner, the lack of wireless charging for both 6P and 5X has been a major turn off to me. After reading that Apple would eventually introduce wireless charging for the iPhone, I felt confident that wireless charging would make a comeback. Again, Apple leads the way, everyone else...

Will AT&T Nexus 6 ever receive Android 6.0 Marshmallow? Update: YES!

Just got the OTA last night and the update went smoothly, no nasty surprise. The 'powering off' on update application did take MUCH LONGER than usual, but eventually the phone rebooted and the update proceeded. So do not panic and just let the process takes its course. I guess Google finally got...
