I reported the fast drain to google and they sent a replacement P2 out. When it came I left it on 8.0 and for 9 hours (while I slept) it stayed on 100%. I rebooted the device and it dropped instantly to 96%, so I suspect that 8.1 has a better report on the battery. Initially I got in touch...
